THE PROJECT:
In 2008, Stefenie Jacks began a project to provide blankets to children staying in an Iowa hospital. Having spent time there with her son–who was born with congenital heart defects–she knew how important it is to make hospitalized children feel more at home.
We are now extending Stefenie’s vision to our home state of Colorado. Our goal is to provide some comfort and to bring a smile and a feeling of home to struggling children and their families.
ABOUT US:
We are 3 mothers who met while our newborn sons were in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, receiving care for different congenital heart defects. Shaina (son: Kimble); Teresa (son: Chance); and Julie (son: Adam) are now seeking to help other mothers and their children.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We are seeking donations of new handmade or store-bought blankets themed for children of all ages (infant through teen). They can be any size.

Quilts
Toddler/Throw Blankets
The blankets we collect will be donated to The Children’s Hospital of Denver where our sons received and continue to receive medical care.

This is a really great cause.
Those children and parents need to feel loved through something like a blanket that they can wrap around themselves.!
