Blanket Donation 2011

On November 11, 2011 we were able to donate 325 blankets to The Children’s Hospital in Denver. We donated them in honor of Logan Flanagan. The Flanagan family traveled from New Mexico to join us and participate in the blanket drive. Adam, Chance, and Kimble enjoyed celebrating their second birthdays with some pizza and cupcakes in the cafeteria. It was a wonderful experience for all of us to be together for such a meaningful cause!

In Memory of Logan Flanagan

We are planning on our blanket drive being a little less of a big production than last year, but we still wanted to make it special.  So, this year we decided to donate the blankets not only as a birthday “thank you” gift to the hospital from us and our boys, but also in memory of a special little angel.

Last year on our blanket donation day, we met sweet little Logan Flanagan and his mom, Tabitha.  Logan and Tabitha had been at The Children’s Hospital for a month when we met them, and they were separated from the rest of their family in New Mexico.  You can see the news video of when we met Logan and Tabitha here.  We were touched by their strength and sweet Logan’s story.  Sadly, Logan passed away shortly after our donation day following heart surgery.

We are joining with the Flanagan family this year to remember the one year anniversary of Logan’s birth and to honor his sweet life.

If you have a blanket to donate, there are many special children and families at the hospital who can use a little comfort.  It always helps to know there are others out there who care!

Together Again

The boys are 19 months old now!  Chance, Adam, and Kimble are all doing great.  They each have different heart concerns, but for the moment, they are stable and thriving.  To any onlooker, they look like normal happy and energetic boys.  They are talking and climbing and laughing and enjoying!  We are thrilled with their progress and optimistic about what the future holds.

It’s been seven months since we donated over a thousand blankets to The Children’s Hospital.  The question was….”Do we want to do it again?”  The answer is YES!

We welcome any and all blanket donations for our blanket drive this year.

Help make a hospital stay more comforting.  Help bring a smile to those sweet little faces.  Help warm the hearts of those who are struggling.  Please donate a blanket.  Coming from those  who know firsthand…it makes all the difference.

We had such fun organizing the blankets and getting them ready for donation.  There were so many amazing blankets that were handmade with love.  There were so many soft and cuddly blankets that were bought with comfort in mind.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this project such a success!  We couldn’t have done it without you!

This was such a wonderful experience to share with so many loving people.  As we walked the halls of The Children’s Hospital once again, memories flooded our hearts and minds.  What a tender time it was for us to experience it all again, only this time, with a different perspective.  We hope these blankets bring  a bit of love, warmth, and comfort, to all the patients and their families during such a difficult time in their life.
